OSI Food Solutions is one of the worlds largest food processing, wholesale distribution and food solutions companies. The organization has been working in the United Kingdom for some time now and 2016 saw the awarding of a prestigious honor to the food company. The Globe of Honour is presented annually by the British Safety Council to organizations and companies who achieve a 5-Star rating with the council and demonstrate a commitment to environmental sustainability. OSI Food Solutions maintains a constant focus on keeping its facilities environmentally sustainable as part of the goal of responsible environmental management.
OSI Food Solutions CEO and Chairman Sheldon Lavin also received an impressive award in 2016 when he was given the Global Visionary Award by India’s Vision World Academy in recognition of his lofty achievements with OSI Food Solutions.
OSI has racked up several impressive accomplishments in Europe in recent years. 2014 saw the forging of a valuable partnership with British beef company Pickstock and 2016 saw the acquisition of British food wholesaler Flagship Europe and Dutch food wholesaler Baho Food. These acquisitions have OSI sitting in a great position in the coming decade to continue to be one of the most successful food processing and distribution companies operating in the European market. Flagship Europe will undergo the name change to Creative Foods Europe. The company also made a large investment in the Toledo, Spain facility in order to increase production of processed chicken. The investment is paying off as chicken production has doubled at the facility. This was a much-needed boost as the Spanish and Portuguese markets have been demanding much larger quantities of chicken in recent years. All of these upgrades and acquisitions are predicted to bring in many new high profile corporate accounts into the OSI Food Solutions customer base.
About OSI Food Solutions:
OSI Food Solutions was founded by German immigrant Otto Kolschowsky in 1909 as a meat market. The company soon expanded to wholesale operations and became a large success in the Midwestern United States. This gained the company the contract to supply ground beef patties to McDonald’s restaurants when that company first started operating in the Midwest. That early success was built on in the 1970s when the company came under the guidance of Sheldon Lavin. He pushed the company to expand across all of North America and then globally. Today, OSI Food Solutions operates over 80 facilities spread out across the companies 17 countries that it does business in.
